Power Trip NYC Dallas Shows Announcement!

Power Trip's Return: Background for Fans Planning a Trip

Power Trip is a thrash metal band from Dallas, Texas, whose crossover sound draws heavily on hardcore punk. Their albums Manifest Decimation and Nightmare Logic won them a devoted following, and their live shows became known for relentless energy. The 2020 death of vocalist Riley Gale was a heavy loss for the band and the wider heavy music community. Later news that the remaining members would play live again, with a guest singer, was therefore significant. The NYC and Dallas dates mentioned above have since taken place, so treat them as part of the band's recent history rather than upcoming events.

Why these cities mattered

Dallas is the band's home city, and a hometown show carries a weight of its own after a long silence. New York has one of the oldest and most active hardcore scenes in the United States, which makes it a natural second stop for a band rooted in that crossover tradition. Together the two cities reflect both sides of Power Trip's identity: Texas thrash and East Coast hardcore.

Practical advice for travelling to heavy shows

For alumni who follow touring bands from Bali, a few general habits make overseas concert trips smoother:

• Use official channels. Buy tickets through the venue or the band's announced ticketing partner to avoid inflated resale prices and fake listings.
• Book flights and rooms early. Long-haul routes from Denpasar usually need at least one connection, so allow buffer days for delays and jet lag.
• Plan late-night transport. Shows often end late, and public transport options vary by city. Check your route back before the doors open.
• Protect your hearing. Earplugs are a small item that makes a big difference at loud thrash and hardcore gigs.
• Check entry requirements. Confirm visa or travel authorisation rules well before departure.
